The summer season can be tough to endure due to high temperatures. To cool down, why not enjoy some homemade, natural ice cream?

Follow the recipe below to prepare tasty and natural mango ice cream easily at home. Homemade food is more beneficial for health as it avoids the chemicals (preservatives, stabilizers, colors, and flavors) used in commercial products and is also cost-effective.

This summer, try making quick and easy mango ice cream packed with the health benefits of mangoes, which provide essential nutrients naturally. For a smooth and creamy texture, please follow the recipe below:

  • Milk: 600ml
  • Whipped Cream: 250ml or 1 cup
  • Sugar: 100 grams (half cup)
  • Ripe Mangoes: 400 grams or 1 cup
  • Food Color (Optional)
  • Blender
  • Knife
  • Pan
  • Bowl
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Freezer-Safe Container
  1. Condensed Milk: Pour milk and sugar into a pan and cook on medium flame, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until it reduces to one-third of the original volume, then turn off the flame and let it cool.
  2. Mango Paste: Cut the mango into slices and blend it with the cooled condensed milk until smooth.
  3. Prepare Cream: Pour the cream into a bowl and beat for about 40 seconds. Then, add the mango paste and 3-4 drops of food color (optional). Mix thoroughly and beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Cooling: Pour the mixture evenly into a container, cover it with plastic wrap, and freeze for about 8-9 hours. After cooling, serve the sweet, natural homemade mango ice cream and enjoy your summer holidays.
  • Do not use high flame for condensed milk as it will burn.
  • Do not add mango slices directly into the whipping cream; blend them with condensed milk to avoid a curdled texture.
  • Stir the condensed milk continuously while cooling to achieve a smooth texture.

Ice cream is a delightful treat that not only cools you down during hot summer days but also provides several benefits:

Enjoy making and eating this delicious mango ice cream, and have a wonderful summer

Ice cream has a long and fascinating history. It is believed that the origins of ice cream date back to ancient China, where a mixture of milk and rice was frozen by packing it in snow. The Roman Emperor Nero is known to have enjoyed ice flavored with fruit and honey.

Ice cream as we know it today began to take shape in the 16th century in Italy, where the aristocracy enjoyed frozen desserts made with sugar. Ice cream wasn’t until the 18th century that it became more widely available in Europe and America. The first ice cream parlor in America opened in New York City in 1790.

While the classic mango ice cream recipe is delicious, there are many ways to add a twist to it. Here are a few variations you can try:

  1. Coconut Mango Ice Cream: Add coconut milk or cream to the mixture for a tropical flavor.
  2. Spicy Mango Ice Cream: Add a pinch of chili powder or cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  3. Mango Sorbet: For a dairy-free option, replace the cream and milk with water or fruit juice.
  4. Mango and Sticky Rice Ice Cream: Incorporate bits of sticky rice into the ice cream for a texture contrast and a nod to the popular Thai dessert.
  1. Use Ripe Mangoes: Ensure the mangoes are fully ripe for the best flavor and sweetness.
  2. Chill Ingredients: Make sure all your ingredients are well-chilled before starting to ensure a smooth and creamy texture.
  3. Avoid Ice Crystals: To prevent ice crystals from forming, stir the ice cream mixture every hour during the first few hours of freezing.
  4. Storage: Store the ice cream in an airtight container to prevent it from absorbing other freezer odors.
  1. Ice Cream Sundaes: The ice cream sundae was invented in the late 19th century. There are several stories about its origin, but most agree it was created to circumvent laws prohibiting the sale of soda on Sundays.
  2. Ice Cream Cones: The ice cream cone was popularized at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. A vendor ran out of dishes and used rolled-up waffles instead.
  3. Favorite Flavors: Vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor in the world, followed closely by chocolate.

Making your mango ice cream at home is not only a fun and rewarding experience but also a healthier and more economical option compared to store-bought ice cream. You have complete control over the ingredients and can experiment with different flavors and textures to suit your taste. Plus, it’s a great way to beat the heat and enjoy the summer season with a refreshing, homemade treat.

Enjoy making and eating this delicious mango ice cream, and have a wonderful summer!
